Your Local Law Review

Local Laws are designed to secure community safety, protect public assets and enhance neighbourhood amenity.

The Local Law covers a range of diverse topics from unsightly land, fire safety, animals, roadside, reserves and footpath trading to planting on nature strips and building sites.

It empowers Council to respond to local issues and protect public and private space as well as the community’s health and safety.

We are currently reviewing our Local Law and this review only takes place once every ten years.

For more information about what is governed by our local laws, see the three tiles below and or read the Central Goldfields Local Law (2015) document.

Thank you!

  • Our online survey closed on 22 December 2023, and we thank the community for their ideas and feedback.
  • Combined with our pop-up information sessions late last year, your suggestions can now be synthesised and drafted over coming months for presentation to Council.
  • You can still ask Council’s Local Laws team to contact you and discuss further – email: LocalLaws@cgoldshire.vic.gov.au
