The Draft Tullaroop Creek Management Plan

What is the Draft Tullaroop Creek Management Plan?

The Waterway Management Plan for Carisbrook defines the long-term vision, strategic objectives and actions for future management of Tullaroop Creek.

Why is it important?

Tullaroop Creek is the centrepiece of Carisbrook. It is a popular recreational area offering a peaceful landscape and natural values, and is a place of significance from a historical, cultural and environmental perspective.

How was it created?

The management plan was developed for Council by RM Consulting Group with the support of Sentient Design during 2020/21, and involved online community and stakeholder consultation in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions.

What stage is the project at?

A final draft plan has been prepared and is now at public exhibition and the project in its final stages. The public exhibition period will commence on 26 August and will finish on 16 September 2021.

What is Council asking the community to do?

Council is inviting the community to:

  1. Make a submission at the bottom of this page or directly to Leigh Hendrickson, Coordinator Design and Projects.
  2. Attend the Carisbrook Community Conversation (now an online session) – Wednesday 1 September 2021. Register by clicking here

Community feedback will then be collated by Council staff and final updates will be made to the document for Council adoption.

Background information

Carisbrook residents were invited to have their say on the Tullaroop Creek Management Plan in September 2020 which aims to guide the long-term management of the creek.

The plan will cover Tullaroop Creek’s corridor of the Pyrenees Highway to the railway bridge, approximately 850 metres northwest of the highway.

Residents were invited to highlight and comment on specific parts of the creek and to express any thoughts, experiences, ideas or concerns.

The Draft Plan is expected to be available by the end of August for community feedback

Feedback closed on Thursday 16 September at 5pm.
